What is your interpretation of the document, is the ritual obvious what are the feelings associated e.g. frustration, happy etc.
- Feelings of superstition and fear - If the ritual didn't happen then she wouldn't sleep as well / become restless, uncomfortable. The ritual provides relief, and comfort /peace of mind.
How does your client describe their homely ritual?
- Being scared of the unknown . Takes a jump onto the bed to be able to sleep peacefully. Paranoid if didn't complete.
Itemize the actions / steps of the ritual what is the sequence?
- Lights off - Run - Jump / Leap - Motion of Jumping - Landing - Peace of mind / Falling asleep.
Describe the scale and the quality of the space of the ritual. Is it cozy and snug or cramped and enclosed?
- Cozy, snug, homely - apart from under the bed.
In discussion with the client select a suitable room in the house to locate your design. Ask the client to define the desired design colours and materials palate based on their document.
- Bedroom. - Well lit, calming colours, no hidden dark places, big but not too big (still cozy), bed in ground but not on ground level? modern (not to sleek and cut off though), homely feel (lighting), fairy lights, not hidden places, ZEN, natural light, Buddha, candles, plugs near bed for phone chargers etc, yellowy light not white.
Ask the client to define an aesthetic / composition / texture from their document e.g. busy, layered, structured, linear etc.
- Frantic opposed to structured - Turn lights off, run / jump into bed.
